We arrived in Juneau around supper time and it was the worst rain we had seen. We went out with rain gear and went into Juneau. There were 2 hugh cruise ships in and everybody was out wandering around. We split an order of King Crab and boy was it yummy. The orders are so big it was plenty for 2. Again a tourist trap kind of place, lots of shopping. We just looked.
Our ferry left in the afternoon so we were able to see some sights and it was overcast, no rain. We went to see the Mendelhoff Glacier. What a neat area. They have a walk way set up and you go by a river and the salmon are running and guess who was there waiting for salmon. Bears. We saw one eating a fish and there are lots of salmon bodies laying around, a little stinky. It was a hike to see the glacier and falls. Really beautiful and it wasn't too cold. In the pictures I have my rain coat on due to the falls.

Oh Mama Bear. I hope you were in your car and not on a trail when you came upon him. I printed the pics of the salmon for me Dad. Were people fishing them (other than Mama Bear)?
Looks like you're standing pretty close to the water falls (from the glaciers?). Next time wear a life jacket will ya, ha.
